$G$-stable pieces and Lusztig's dimension estimates

Abstract

We use $G$-stable pieces to construct some equidimensional varieties and as a consequence, obtain Lusztig's dimension estimates \cite[section 4]{L2}. This is a generalization of \cite{HL}.
