Baryon Modes of B Meson Decays

Abstract

The baryon decay modes of B,barB-> N1barN2(f), barN1N2(barf) provide a frame work to test CP-invariance in baryon sector. It is shown that in the rest frame of B, N1 and barN2 come out with longitudnal polarization lambda1=lambda2= 1 with decay width Gammaf=Gammaf+++Gammaf-- and the asymmetry parameter alpha f= f=f++-Gammaf-- . It is shown that CP invariance prediction alphaf=-alphabarf can be tested in these decay modes; especially in the time dependent decays of Bq0-barBq0 complex. Apart from this, it is shown that decay modes B(barB)->N1barN2(barN1N2) and subsequent non leptonic decays of N2,barN2 or (N1,barN1) into hyperon (antihyperon) also provide a frame work to study CP-odd observables in hyperon decays.
