Search for rare b-meson decays at CDF
Abstract
We report on the search for B0sμ+μ-, B0dμ+μ- decays and b s μ+μ- transitions in exclusive decays of B mesons using the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Using 2 fb-1 of Run II data we find upper limits on the branching fractions B(B0sμ+μ-)<5.8× 10-8 and B(B0dμ+μ-)<1.8× 10-8 at 95% confidence level. The results for the branching fractions of the b s μ+μ- transitions using 924 pb-1 of Run II data are B(B+μ+μ-K+)=(0.600.150.04)× 10-6, B(B0dμ+μ-K*0)=(0.820.310.10)× 10-6 and B(B0s μ+μ-φ)/B(B0s J/φ) < 2.61× 10-3 at 95% confidence level.
