On Bialostocki's conjecture for zero-sum sequences
Abstract
Let n be a positive even integer, and let a1,...,an and w1, ..., wn be integers satisfying Σk=1n akΣk=1n wk =0 (mod n). A conjecture of Bialostocki states that there is a permutation σ on 1,...,n such that Σk=1n wk aσ(k)=0 (mod n). In this paper we confirm the conjecture when w1,...,wn form an arithmetic progression with even common difference.
