On functions of Arakawa and Kaneko and multiple zeta functions

Abstract

We study for s∈=\1,2,...\ the functions k(s)=1(s)∫0∞ts-1et-1k(1-e-t)dt, and more generally k1,...,kr(s)=1(s)∫0∞ts-1et-1k1,...,kr(1-e-t)dt, introduced by Arakawa and Kaneko Arakawa and relate them with (finite) multiple zeta functions, partially answering a question of Arakawa. In particular, we give an alternative proof of a result of Ohno Ohno2.
