On Binary Cyclic Codes with Five Nonzero Weights
Abstract
Let q=2n, 0≤ k≤ n-1, n/(n,k) be odd and k≠ n/3, 2n/3. In this paper the value distribution of following exponential sums \[Σx∈ q(-1)Tr1n(α x22k+1+β x2k+1+ x)(α,β,∈ q)\] is determined. As an application, the weight distribution of the binary cyclic code , with parity-check polynomial h1(x)h2(x)h3(x) where h1(x), h2(x) and h3(x) are the minimal polynomials of π-1, π-(2k+1) and π-(22k+1) respectively for a primitive element π of q, is also determined.
