Some congruences for the second-order Catalan numbers

Abstract

Let p be any odd prime. We mainly show that Σk=1p-1binomial(3k,k)*2k/k=0 (mod p) and Σk=1p-12k-1Ck(2)=(-1)(p-1)/2-1 (mod p), where Ck(2)=binomial(3k,k)/(2k+1) is the kth Catalan number of order 2.
