Measurement of ee(J/)*Br(J/->e+e-) and ee(J/)*Br(J/->μ+μ-)

Abstract

The products of the electron width of the J/ meson and the branching fraction of its decays to the lepton pairs were measured using data from the KEDR experiment at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider. The results are ee(J/)*Br(J/->e+e-)=(0.33230.00640.0048) keV, ee(J/)*Br(J/->μ+μ-)=(0.33180.00520.0063) keV. Their combinations ee×(ee+μμ)/=(0.66410.00820.0100) keV, ee/μμ=1.0020.0210.013 can be used to improve theaccuracy of the leptonic and full widths and test leptonic universality. Assuming eμ universality and using the world average value of the lepton branching fraction, we also determine the leptonic ll=5.590.12 keV and total =94.12.7 keV widths of the J/ meson.
