Almost-prime k-tuples

Abstract

Let k 2 and (n)=Πi=1k(ain+bi) for some integers ai, bi (1 i k). Suppose that (n) has no fixed prime divisors. Weighted sieves have shown for infinitely many integers n that ((n)) rk holds for some integer rk which is asymptotic to kk. We use a new kind of weighted sieve to improve the possible values of rk when k 4.
