Semiclassical analysis for Hamiltonian in the Born-Oppenheimer approximation

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show that the operator equation* H(h) =-h2x-y+V(x,y), equation*% V is continuous (or V∈ L2(Rxn× R%yp) ), and V(x,y) → ∞ as % x + y → ∞, has purely discrete spectrum. We give an application to the harmonic oscillator.
