On an inverse problem for scalar conservation laws
Abstract
We study in what sense one can determine the function k=k(x) in the scalar hyperbolic conservation law ut+(k(x)f(u))x=0 by observing the solution u(t,) of the Cauchy problem with initial data u|t=0=uo.
