On harmonic representation of means

Abstract

We characterize continuous, symmetric and homogeneous means M that can be represented in the form equation* 1M(x,y)=∫01 dtN(x+y2-tx-y2,x+y2+tx-y2). equation* New inequalities for means are derived from such representation.
