On uniqueness of differential structures on orbifolds

Abstract

It is known that every Cr-orbifold, 1≤ r≤∞, has a compatible Cs-differential structure, for every s, where r< s≤ω. We prove that if two reduced Cr-orbifolds, 2≤ r≤ω, are C2-diffeomorphic, then they are Cr-diffeomorphic. It follows that the compatible Cs-differential structure on a reduced Cr-orbifold, 2≤ r<s≤ω, is unique up to a Cs-diffeomorphism.
