Abstract
Complete solutions of functional identities Σk∈ KFk(xmk)xk = Σl∈ LxlGl(xml) on the matrix algebra Mn(F) are given. The nonstandard parts of these solutions turn out to follow from the Cayley-Hamilton identity.
