Implications of a nonvanishing Z γ γ vertex on the H γ γ γ decay

Abstract

The Z γ γ and H γ γ γ decays are strictly forbidden in the Standard Model, but they can be induced by theories that violate Lorentz symmetry or the CPT theorem. By assuming that a nonvanishing Zγ γ vertex is induced in some context of new physics, and by analyzing the reaction H γ Z* γ γ γ in the Z resonance, we obtain an estimation for the branching ratio of the H γ γ γ decay. Specifically, it is found that BR(H γ γ γ) BR(H γ Z)BRExp(Z γ γ), which is of the order of 10-7.
