Bi-invariant differential operators on the Galilean group
Abstract
The Galilean group is the group of symmetries of Newtonian mechanics, with Lie a lgebra (n). We find algebraically independent generators for the center of the universal enveloping algebra of (n) using coadjoint orbits.
