Effective transverse radius of nucleon in high-energy elastic diffractive scattering

Abstract

High-energy elastic diffraction of nucleons is considered in the framework of the simplest Regge-eikonal approximation. It is demonstrated explicitly that the effective transverse radius of nucleon in this nonperturbative regime is 0.2 0.3 fm and much less than the transverse size of the diffractive interaction region.
