Correlations between real conjugate algebraic numbers

Abstract

For B⊂Rk denote by k(Q;B) the number of ordered k-tuples in B of real conjugate algebraic numbers of degree ≤ n and naive height ≤ Q. We show that k(Q;B) = (2Q)n+12ζ(n+1) ∫B k(x)\,dx + O(Qn), Q ∞, where the function k will be given explicitly. If n=2, then an additional factor Q appears in the reminder term.
