Notes on the Weierstrass Elliptic Function

Abstract

A consistent notation for the Weierstrass elliptic function (z;g2,g3), for g2 > 0 and arbitrary values of g3 and g23 - 27 g32, is introduced based on the parametric solution for the motion of a particle in a cubic potential. These notes provide a roadmap for the use of Mathematica to calculate the half-periods (ω1,ω3,ω2 ω1 + ω3) of the Weierstrass elliptic function.
