Evidence for Torque Caused by a Magnetic Impulse on a Nonmagnetic Torsion Pendulum
Abstract
I have performed an experiment which is a variant of the one suggested recently by F. O. Minotti and T. E. Raptis. The aim of this experiment is to check the generation of a pulsed gravitational potential by a transient magnetic field as predicted by a scalar tensor theory of gravity. Such a scalar tensor theory allows an enhanced coupling of its fundamental long-range real scalar field as well as its external scalar field to the electromagnetic field, according to the author's previous papers. Several possible sources that could mimic the predicted effect have been ruled out. Finally, it seems likely that the predicted effect is there with the right order of magnitude, as expected.
