Tidal deformability of boson stars and dark matter clumps

Abstract

In this work we consider minimally-coupled boson stars immersed in a tidal environment and compute their tidal deformability to leading order. We also describe an approximate correspondence between Newtonian boson star configurations (described by the Schr\"odinger-Poisson equations) and dynamical dark matter clumps (described by the collisionless Boltzmann equation). This allows us to map our results for the tidal deformability of boson stars to approximate statements for dark matter clumps.
