Evidence for the decay B0 η η

Abstract

We report a search for B0 η η with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 698 \, fb-1 containing 753 × 106 BB pairs collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The branching fraction is measured to be B(B0 η η ) = (7.6+2.7 +1.4-2.3 -1.6) × 10-7 at the level of 3.3 standard deviations above zero, which provides the first evidence for the decay B0 η η.
