Asymptotics of the quantization errors for condensation measures

Abstract

Let P:= 1 3 P S1-1+ 13 P S2-1+ 13, where S1(x)= 15 x, S2(x)= 1 5 x+ 45 for all x∈ R, and be a Borel probability measure on R with compact support. Such a measure P is called a condensation measure, or an an inhomogeneous self-similar measure, associated with the condensation system (\S1, S2\, ( 13, 13, 13), ). In this paper, we have explicitly calculated optimal quantizers, quantization dimension, and the lower and upper quantization coefficients for an inhomogeneous self-similar measure.
