An extension result for maps admitting an algebraic addition theorem

Abstract

We prove that if an analytic map f:=(f1,… ,fn):U⊂ Cn→ Cn admits an algebraic addition theorem then there exists a meromorphic map g:=(g1,… ,gn):Cn→ Cn admitting an algebraic addition theorem such that f1,… ,fn are algebraic over C(g1,… ,gn) on U (this was proved by K. Weierstrass in dimension 1). Furthermore, (g1,… ,gn) admits a rational addition theorem.
