Bi-layer-dimerized chiral liquid crystals
Abstract
There is a large variety of bi-layered structures with smectic A type ordering. Results of this paper contribute to a theory of bi-layered phases. The difference between the \( SmC*A \) and \( SmCα* \) phases is described in this latter paper and it is explained by existence and non-existence of the dipole moment pairs.
