Dimension dependence of factorization problems: bi-parameter Hardy spaces

Abstract

Given 1 ≤ p,q < ∞ and n∈N0, let Hnp(Hnq) denote the canonical finite-dimensional bi-parameter dyadic Hardy space. Let (Vn : n∈N0) denote either (Hnp(Hnq) : n∈N0) or ( (Hnp(Hnq))* : n∈N0). We show that the identity operator on Vn factors through any operator T : VN VN which has large diagonal with respect to the Haar system, where N depends linearly on n.
