A Note on Generic Transversality of Euclidean Submanifolds

Abstract

In this short note, we establish a quantitative description of the genericity of transversality of C1-submanifolds in Rn: Let ⊂ Rn be a d-dimensional C1-embedded submanifold where n ≥ d+1. Denote by equation A() := \ a ∈ Rn: volume\,\ p∈ : ∂B(a, |a-p|) is not transversal to at p \ > 0 \. equation Then A() is contained in a countable union of (n-d-1)-dimensional affine planes.
