(Un)distorted diffeomorphisms in different regularities
Abstract
We build the first examples of diffeomorphisms that are distorted in a group of Cr diffeomorphisms yet undistorted in the corresponding group of Cs diffeomorphisms, where r < s. This explicit construction is performed for the closed interval, r = 1 and s = 2.
