Volume growth and topological entropy of certain partially hyperbolic systems

Abstract

Let f be a C1 diffeomorphism on a compact manifold M admitting a partially hyperbolic splitting TM=Es E1 E2·s El Eu where Es is uniformly contracting, Eu is uniformly expanding and Ei=1,\,1≤ i≤ l. We prove an entropy formula w.r.t. the volume growth rate of subspaces in the tangent bundle: htop(f)=n+∞1n∫V⊂ TxM| Dfxn|V|\,d x.
