Cocompact imbedding theorem for functions of bounded variation into Lorentz spaces
Abstract
We show that the imbedding BV(RN) L1,q(RN), q>1 is cocompact with respect to group and the profile decomposition for BV(RN). This paper extends the cocompactness and profile decomposition for the critical space L1(RN) to Lorentz spaces L1,q(RN), q>1. A counterexample for BV(RN) L1,1(RN) not cocompact is given in the last section.
