C*-algebraic Schoenberg Conjecture
Abstract
Based on Schoenberg conjecture [Amer. Math. Monthly., 1986]/Malamud-Pereira theorem [J. Math. Anal. Appl, 2003], [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., 2005] we formulate the following conjecture which we call C*-algebraic Schoenberg Conjecture.\\ C*-algebraic Schoenberg Conjecture : Let A be a C*-algebra. Let d∈ N\1\, P(z)= (z-a1)(z-a2)·s (z-ad) be a polynomial over A with a1, a2, …, ad ∈ A . If P' can be written as P'(z)= d(z-b1)(z-b2)·s (z-bd-1) on A with b1, b2, …, bd-1 ∈ A , then align* Σk=1d-1bkbk*≤ 1d2[Σj=1daj][Σj=1daj]*+ d-2dΣj=1dajaj* align* and align* Σk=1d-1bk*bk≤ 1d2[Σj=1daj]*[Σj=1daj]+ d-2dΣj=1daj*aj. align* We show that C*-algebraic Schoenberg conjecture holds for degree 2 C*-algebraic polynomials over C*-algebras.
