First observation of B\! D1(Dπ+π-)+ and measurement of the B\! D(*)π+ and B\! D(*)π+π-+ branching fractions with hadronic tagging at Belle
Abstract
We report measurements of the ratios of branching fractions for B D(*)π+ and B D(*)π+π-+ relative to B D*+ decays with = e, μ. These results are obtained from a data sample that contains 772 × 106 BB pairs collected near the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider. Fully reconstructing both B mesons in the event, we obtain align* B(B0 D0π-+)B(B0 D*-+) &= (7.240.360.12)\%\ ,\\ B(B+ D-π++)B(B+ D*0+) &= (6.780.240.15)\%\ ,\\ B(B0 D*0π-+)B(B0 D*-+) &= (11.100.480.20)\%\ ,\\ B(B+ D*-π++)B(B+ D*0+) &= (9.500.330.27)\%\ ,\\ B(B0 D-π+π-+)B(B0 D*-+) &= (2.910.370.25)\%\ ,\\ B(B+ D0π+π-+)B(B+ D*0+) &= (3.100.260.21)\%\ ,\\ B(B0 D*-π+π-+)B(B0 D*-+) &= (1.030.430.18)\%\ ,\\ B(B+ D*0π+π-+)B(B+ D*0+) &= (1.250.270.15)\%\ , align* where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The invariant mass spectra of the Dπ, D*π, and Dππ systems are studied. Branching fraction products are extracted, among them the first observations of B(B0 D1-+) × B(D1- D-π+π-) = (0.1020.0130.009)\% and B(B+ D10+) × B(D10 D0π+π-) = (0.1050.0110.008)\%.
