Manifestation of the electric dipole moment in the decays of τ leptons produced in e+e- annihilation
Abstract
CP-odd asymmetries in the processes e+e-→ τ+π-τ, e+e-→ π+τ- τ, e+e-→ τ+-τ, e+e-→ +τ-τ , e+e- τ+e-τe\,,\, and \,e+e- τ-e+eτ are investigated with account for longitudinal polarization of electron (or positron) beam. These asymmetries is a manifestation of electric dipole form factor F3τ b in the γτ+τ- vertex. It is shown that, to measure Im\,b in the specified processes, polarization is not needed, while to measure Re\,b it is required. The processes e+e- π+π-ττ, e+e- e+e-ττee, e+e- μ+μ-ττμμ, e+e- μ+e-ττμe, and e+e- μ-e+ττeμ are also discussed for the case of unpolarized electron and positron beams. In the latter cases it is possible to measure Re\,b using the differential cross section over momenta of both registered particles.
