First results of the CMS experiment at 13.6 TeV
Abstract
The CMS experiment recorded about 38.5\,fb-1 of proton-proton collision data at s=13.6\,TeV in 2022, the first year of the LHC Run 3. Performance highlights on electron triggers, tracking with muons, and jet energy calibration are shown. The CMS luminosity measurement and an independent cross-check based on the counting of Z boson events are discussed. Finally, the first Run 3 cross section measurement of top quark pair production is presented.
