The regularity index, Hilbert function of fat points and the embedding
Abstract
Let m n, φn,m: Pn Pm, φn,m(a1, …, an)=(a1, …, an, 0, …, 0), be the embedding, Z=m1P1+·s+msPs be fat points in Pn and φn,m(Z)=m1φn,m(P1)+·s+msφn,m(Ps) be fat points in Pm. We show the relation between the regularity index, Hilbert function of the fat points Z and the regularity index, Hilbert function of the fat points φn,m(Z).
