Resetting of free and confined motion with generalized Ornstein-Uhlenbeck distribution

Abstract

Recently, a new formalism describing the anomalous diffusion processes, based on the Onsager-Machlup fluctuation theory, has been suggested Smain, Spub. We study particles performing this new type of motion, under the action of resetting at a constant rate, or Poissonian resetting. We derive the mean-squared displacement and probability density function, and investigate their dependence on the shape parameter, diffusion coefficient, potential strength and resetting rate.
