The Tropical Amplituhedron
Abstract
The Amplituhedron is a subspace of the Grassmannian that was recently defined by Arkani-Hamed and Trnka in their study of scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 super Yang Mills theory (arXiv:1312.2007), and was the subject of many papers in the last decade. In this work we define a tropical analog of the amplituhedron, and develop techniques to address it. We prove that many of the key properties of the amplituhedron hold also in this simpler, piecewise linear, model.
