On the eigenvalue problem for a bulk/surface elliptic system
Abstract
The paper addresses the doubly elliptic eigenvalue problem cases - u=λ u &in ,\\ u=0 &on 0,\\ - u +∂ u =λ u &on 1, cases where is a bounded open subset of RN (N 2) with C1 boundary =01, 01=, 1 being nonempty and relatively open on . Moreover HN-1(01)=0 and HN-1(0)>0. We recognize that L2()× L2(1) admits a Hilbert basis of eigenfunctions of the problem and we describe the eigenvalues. Moreover, when is at least C2 and 01=, we give several qualitative properties of the eigenfunctions.
