Modules (co)reduced relative to another module
Abstract
Let R be a commutative unital ring, a an ideal of R and M a fixed R-module. We introduce and study generalisations of a-reduced modules, R a and a-coreduced modules, C a studied in the literature. They are called modules a-reduced with respect to M, RM a and modules a-coreduced with respect to M, CM a. The paper lifts several known results about R a and C a to larger classes of modules RM a and CM a respectively. Results about R a and C a can be retrieved by taking M= R.
