Measurement of the branching fraction of D+s + via e+e- D*+s D*-s
Abstract
Based on 10.64~fb-1 of e+e- collision data taken at center-of-mass energies between 4.237 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector, we study the leptonic D+s decays using the e+e- D*+s D*-s process. The branching fractions of Ds++\,(=μ,τ) are measured to be B(Ds+μ+μ)=(0.5470.026 stat0.016 syst)\% and B(Ds+τ+τ)=(5.600.16 stat0.20 syst)\%, respectively. The product of the decay constant and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcs| is determined to be fDs+|Vcs|=(246.55.9 stat3.6 syst0.5 input)μ~MeV and fDs+|Vcs|=(252.73.6 stat4.5 syst0.6 input))τ ~MeV, respectively. Taking the value of |Vcs| from a global fit in the Standard Model, we obtain fD+s=(252.86.0 stat3.7 syst0.6 input)μ MeV and fD+s=(259.23.6 stat4.5 syst0.6 input)τ MeV, respectively. Conversely, taking the value for fDs+ from the latest lattice quantum chromodynamics calculation, we obtain |Vcs| =(0.9860.023 stat0.014 syst0.003 input)μ and |Vcs| = (1.0110.014 stat0.018 syst0.003 input)τ , respectively.
