Gravitational Wave Astrophysics with TianQin: A brief progress review

Abstract

As a space-borne gravitational wave observatory, TianQin can observe a large variety of gravitational wave sources. The rich signals can be composed by different types of astronomical systems, like Galactic compact binaries, inspiral of stellar mass black holes, merger of massive black holes, and extreme mass ratio inspirals. The incoherent summation of these signals can also form a stochastic gravitational wave background. Using the future TianQin observation, it is possible to put stringent constraints on fundamental science, like the expansion history of our universe. In this work, we provide a brief review of these topics that contributes to the 7th International Workshop on the TianQin Science Mission.
