Precise determination of pomeron intercept via scaling entropy analysis

Abstract

In this work, we confront the geometrical scaling properties of inclusive DIS cross section (e+p→ e +X) with the scaling entropy obtained from event multiplicity. We show that these two quantities are equivalent in the kinematic range probed by H1 Collaboration data. We propose that scaling entropy associated with partonic interactions is a more efficient way to detect scaling in experimental data. We used a combined analysis of the inclusive cross section and entropy obtained from multiplicities P(N) of final-state hadrons to accurately determine the value of the Pomeron intercept. The approach could provide new constraints for future hadron collider experiments and deepen our understanding of parton saturation.
