Improved Measurements of D+ η e+e and D+ η μ+μ

Abstract

Using 20.3 fb-1 of e+e- collision data collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fractions of D+ η e+e and D+ ημ+μ to be (9.750.290.28)×10-4 and (9.080.350.23)×10-4, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. From a simultaneous fit to their partial decay rates, we determine the product of the hadronic form factor fη+(0) and the modulus of the c d Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcd| to be fη+(0)|Vcd|=0.0780.0020.001. Taking the |Vcd| value from the Standard Model global fit as input, we obtain fη+(0)=0.3450.0080.003. The ratio between the measured branching fractions of D+η+μ+μ and D+η e+e, is determined to be 0.930.05 stat.0.02 syst., indicating no violation of lepton flavor universality.
