Global existence of the solution of the modified Camassa-Holm equation with step-like boundary conditions

Abstract

We consider the Cauchy problem for the modified Camassa-Holm equation \[ ut+((u2-ux2)m)x=0, m u-uxx, t>0,\ \ -∞<x<+∞ \] subject to the step-like initial data: u(x,0) A1 as x-∞ and u(x,0) A2 as x+∞, where 0<A1<A2. The goal is to establish the global existence of the solution of this problem.
