On the ternary Estermann problem with almost proportional summands

Abstract

For n ≥ 3, an asymptotic formula is derived for the number of representations of a sufficiently large natural number N in the form p1+p2+mn=N, where p1, p2 - prime numbers, m - natural number satisfying the conditions |pk-μkN| H, k=1,2, |mn-μ3N| H, H N1-1n(n-1) L2n+1n-1+n-1, for μ1+μ2+μ3=1, \ \ μi >0, L = N. Keywords: Estermann problem, almost proportional summands, short exponential sum of G. Weyl, small neighborhood of centers of major arcs. Bibliography: 20 titles.
