Study of the Magnetic Dipole Transition of J/ψγηc via ηc pp

Abstract

Using (10.0870.044)×109 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the e+e- BEPCII collider, we present the first amplitude analysis of J/ψγpp with the p p invariant mass in the ηc mass region [2.70,3.05]~GeV/c2. The product branching fraction B(J/ψγηc)×B(ηc pp) is precisely determined to be (2.110.02 stat0.07 syst)×10-5. Combining with the product branching fractions B(ηc pp)×B(ηc γγ) and B(J/ψγηc)×B(ηc γγ), the branching fractions of B(J/ψγηc) and B(ηcγγ) are calculated to be (2.290.01 stat0.04 syst0.18 opbf)\% and (2.280.01 stat0.04 syst0.18 opbf)×10-4, respectively, which are consistent with the latest lattice quantum chromodynamics calculations. Here, opbf is the uncertainty from the other product branching fractions used in the calculation.
