Generalized Curvatures of Curves in Rn
Abstract
For a curve γ:In of order n-1, we prove that the generalized curvatures 1, …, n-1 can be expressed in terms of the leading principal minors of the matrix A(t)TA(t), where A(t) is the n× n matrix whose i-th column is γ(i)(t). This gives an efficient algorithm to calculate the curvatures.
