Critical coupling in φ24 theory

Abstract

We consider φ4 theory with φ(x)∈R in two Euclidean dimensions. We determine for a variety of self-couplings λ the (negative) critical bare mass μ0c2(λ) where the lattice-regularized system changes from the symmetric to the broken phase. Based on these data, the transition to infinite volume and a universal scheme with the renormalized parameter μc2(λ) is made. Finally, fc=λ0λ/μc2(λ) is determined, with a judicious choice of the parameterizations considered. Our final result reads fc=11.1097(20)stat(09)sys=11.1097(22)tot.
