Delta-Unknotting Number for Two-Bridge Knots
Abstract
The -unknotting number for a knot is defined as the minimum number of -moves needed to deform the knot into the trivial knot. We determine the -unknotting numbers for two-bridge knots of type C(2β1, 2β2, ... , 2βn) and type C(2β1, 2β2, ... , 2βn-1, 2βn-1), where βi is a positive integer for 1 ≤ i ≤ n. We also discuss two-bridge knots whose -unknotting number is equal to one.
