Learning Together: A Format for Reflective Turn-Based Sharing in STEM Communities
Abstract
Here, we present Learning Together: a simple, low-cost format for structured speaking and listening on historical, cultural, and equity-related topics within a physics community. In this article, we describe the process of running these hour-long sessions, including what is needed, how to set expectations for participants, and practical facilitation moves that help participants reflect safely on unfamiliar and sometimes difficult material. We aim to offer a replicable recipe that instructors and departments can adapt to their own contexts.
